PAW 2020

PAW 2020 was all ready to go. We had the brochure and programme printed and everything organised but at an emergency trustee meeting on the 20th of March we made the decision to cancel due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. All the artists exhibition fees were refunded and we ware able to pay the performers 65% of their fee and put on a Virtual Events Programme.

Concerts & Other Events

Virtual Events 2020 – In 2020 our whole Festival went online due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. We put together a number of musical sequences to showcase some of the performers, who were looking forward to being with us at PAW 2020. They found all their concerts had been cancelled and were so grateful that, thanks to our support and the wonderful generosity of our Festival Friends, they received at least some funding to help them.

PYA 2020

The PAW Festival was cancelled this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Competitions

Brochure & Programme Cover Competition: Exhibiting artists could submit artwork to be selected for the cover of the Brochure and the Programme. As the Festival didn’t take place, the winning image were carried over to the next year.

Exhibiting Visual Artists

As the Festival was cancelled, we ventured into our first ever on-line art auction, held on June 14th, in partnership with Martin Lewis (Wareham Tower Chimes magazine). This was a great success – around £9,000 of art was sold, 60% of this went to the artists, and donations were raised for the Dorset Coronavirus Fund (£2,207) and PAW (£1,800).

We also ensured that every artist had a page on the website and we ran a lively and comprehensive social media campaign before, during, and after the cancelled PAW dates. This promoted the virtual events and gave every one of the artists who would have participated in PAW, some additional exposure.
