Artist’s Statement:

“After training as a potter at Poole Pottery in my teens, I went on to Winchester School of Art as a mature student and gained a BA (Hons) degree in 3D Design/Ceramics at West Surrey Institute of Art, Farnham. Since then I have continued to thrive artistically and have had opportunities to exhibit in London (Cork Street and Contemporary Ceramics), Southampton, Chichester, Romsey and here in Swanage, both solo and collectively.

In my 2D and 3D artworks I am hugely influenced by my surroundings and nature in the Dorset landscapes. In my studio I experiment with mixed media, including printing, collage, painting and clay. I print on a variety of papers and store them for future use in my collages. I use these hand printed papers as my palette to explore tone, hues, space, light, form and shapes which then leads me on a journey towards a finished artwork with real meaning and sensitivity.”
