Artist’s Statement:

“My practice is rooted in traditional hand carving, approaching each block of stone as though it already contains the subject waiting to be revealed. I allow the material’s inherent qualities—colour, surface, and structure—to guide the final form. Current sculptures are in Purbeck limestone, Carrara marble and Spanish alabaster. The stone inherently reflects the continuity of life across the centuries and the stories that connect us to the land.

Figures and plant life emerge from within each block—curled, crouched, or partially embedded—suggesting a connection between body, land and material. The interplay of polished and raw surfaces is a meditation on vulnerability, transformation, and our profound bond with the natural world.”
