Purbeck/Autumn Chamber Music Festival
This was created to spread the PAW brand ‘out of festival’, following the three sucessful Autumn concerts that Natalie Clein had put on in 2012. In 2016 it evolved into the Purbeck International Chamber Music Festival (PICMF)

Late Summer Concerts on the theme of ‘Bach, Jazz and Inspiration’

St Mary’s Chapel Lulworth Castle: J S Bach Gamba Sonata in G major, Brandenburg Concerto no 6 and Bach-inspired improvisations from Hayden Chisholm. – Adults £18 Students £2

At The Learning Centre Durlston Castle: ‘Up Close! with Natalie, her musician friends and her amazing cello! A half-hour of musical fun for families; singing and dancing for all. – Tickets: £2.50 per family member. Adults must be accompanied by a child.

St Edward’s Church Corfe Castle: An evening of words and music with Actors including Louisa Clein and music including Brahms and Bach plus improvising both with music and words. JS Bach Two Part Inventions performed by various instrumental duos; works by Ligeti, Schulhoff and Brahms’ String Sextet in B flat major. – Adults £17 Students £2

PYA 2015
Our Festival is for everyone and it is appropriate that we should encorage and celebeate art created locally in the community. Art is also fun and, as part of our Festival theme of “Out of the Depths“, we are creating a dinosaur made from clay tiles. This will take it’s place alongside our ceramic-leaved Community Tree of Life on Swanage sea-front (there is another such tree in the garden of Wareham Library).

Community Art
In 2015, with the guidance of Dawn Newlove, we created the second Swanage Sea Front Mural. It was designed to showcase our status as the gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Students at the Purbeck School painted the background of Tilly Whim caves from which our Stegosaurus emerges. The Stegosauraus was created at a series of workshops in local schools, including the Swanage School, whose children helped to unveil the finished mural. The Pterodactyl was made during the mural opening ceremony and added later.

PAWF John Flower Bursary
Bursary Award Recipients:
Alice James: An award to reimburse the costs of attending Life Drawing classes for 5 months, with the balance to be put towards an A3 Artist quality giclée printer.
Verity Marlow: An award for the cost of the fee for the residential Summer School at Elmhurst School of Dance in Birmingham.
Competitions
Purbeck Young Artist Competition: work based on this year’s theme was exhibited at Rollington Barn (primarily in the Cafe) and there was a prize giving on the Thursday evening before the Festival began.
Postcard Competition: collect signatures from five different artists venues and win a £250 voucher for a piece of PAW art of your choice.
Theme Competition: Exhibiting artists could submit artwork based on the current year’s theme (Out of the Depths) to be selected to be used on the poster or for the cover of the Brochure or the Programme.
Visual Artists Forum
The forum was started last year to provide a link between the visual artists and the trustees, to make decisions on the yearly theme, to organise additional exhibitions and to put on workshops for the benifit of the members.
In 2015 there was an introduction to stone carving workshop by Carlotta Barrow at Burngate and a printmaking workshop by Heather Gibbons.
